Follow us, won’t you?
Due to poor weather conditions, the Worshipful Master is cancelling the meeting.
The rovers currently on the planet Mars, Opportunity and Curiosity, have given scientists insight into rock formations that once bore life. One of the rocks discovered was deemed a “Wopmay” rock–a name from similar rock formations found on the Canadian Shield, then named after WWI flying ace, Bro. Wilfred “Wop” May, who, at one time, was a member of our Lodge. Bro. May was also a lodge officer during Ivanhoe’s historic meeting up at Coppermine, NT. You can read the story of that meeting and the members present here.
Thursday February 7, 2013 — Ivanhoe Lodge No. 142 regular meeting, 7:30 PM, Freemasons’ Hall, Edmonton. After the close of the meeting, the Worshipful Master will be giving an enlightening PowerPoint presentation titled “Lifting The Veil – An Exploration of Esoteric Ideas” where he opens our minds to some basic Jungian psychology and thought and shows that our Masonic ritual invites its students to contemplate the “mysterious veil”. Festive board to follow.
Due to poor road conditions, the Worshipful Master has cancelled tonight’s degree and meeting, which was to feature the Past Masters Degree Team.
